Following the acquisition in 2002 of a pair of wine coolers from the Sachsen-Teschen Service, the core of the surviving parts was discovered in a French private collection. This superb ensemble was last displayed at the beginning of the twentieth century. |

This morning Gabriele Finaldi, Associate Director of Curatorship at the Museo del Prado, presented the special display of El Greco's View and Plan of Toledo to the press. The canvas, will be temporarily displayed at the Prado following its restoration at the Museum. It will be shown alongside three other works by the artist: Saint Sebastian, Saint Andrew and Saint Francis, and Saint Bernard, which also include partial views of Toledo. |
