Extract: This new exhibition at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery celebrates the visit of Pope Benedict XVI to Birmingham on Sunday 19 September, as part of the first ever United Kingdom state visit by a pope. The display will feature fourteen photographs following the Pope from the mass and beatification ceremony for Cardinal John Henry Newman, to Oscott College, where he prayed in the elaborate Gothic chapel designed by the architect A W N Pugin.
