Power of Water

Paintings, graphic works, sculpture and installations with representation of water that is one of the most popular motifs in the Russian art since the XVIII century till now will be presented on the "Power of Water" exhibition.
The exhibition will consist of two parts. The first part will demonstrate the traditional art from the XVIII century to the 1st half of the XX century. The artworks by the most prominent Russian artists such as Ivan Aivazovsky, Fyodor Vasilyev, Alexei Savrasov, Ilya Repin, Illarion Pryanishnikov, Arkhip Kuindzhi, Konstantin Korovin, Vasily Surikov, Isaac Levitan, Aleksandr Benois, Mikhail Nesterov, Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin, Victor Borisov-Musatov, Aleksandr Deyneka, Arkady Plastov will be shown. The artworks by contemporary artists from Saint-Petersburg, Siberia and Nizhny Novgorod will be presented in the second part of the exhibition. The viewers will have the opportunity for getting acquainted with names of young artists, the artworks by which are not housed in the Russian Museum.
